...that has lasted more than 80 years!

In 1923, nineteen ladies decided to help the children at Leath Orphanage by sewing clothing for them. They called their time together "Le Bonheur," from the French "hour of happiness." In 1944, the club began efforts to establish a children's hospital, and in 1952, the doors to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital were opened.
Le Bonheur Club continues to promote, serve and contribute to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center. From the original nineteen members, Le Bonheur Club has grown to over 650 members spanning several generations of Memphis and Mid-South women. Through extensive fundraising efforts and hours of volunteer time, the ladies of Le Bonheur continue to enjoy their hours of happiness as they work to make life a little healthier for the children of the Mid-South.
